Unless you’ve been hiding away under a rock since Monday night, you’ll know that good old Saint Patrick’s Day happened yesterday. The festivities were beyond epic this year, with my hometown breaking the world record for having a whole LOT of Elsas (and princesses) walk in the parade. There were 771 to be exact. Pretty cool – obviously – because all those Elsas made the temperatures drop ❄️
Anyways, in the spirit of being Irish, we did wet the shamrock with a few tasteful cocktails. Sure, it would have been rude not to. We were lacking in mint leaves and basil to garnish, but they tasted pretty damn good if I do say so myself.
So, I will post the recipes. They’re a bit late, I know, but at least they’re here for the next time you decide to get your Oirish on 🍀 Also, as ever, I totally promote responsible drinking. Today is the anniversary of a dear friend of mine. I miss her much. So, respect Diageo! ‘Nuff said.
45 ml White Rum
45 ml Mojito mix
15 ml lime juice (I used lemon with a dash of lime)
Syrup (half water, half sugar)
Put all the ingredients in a blender. Mix well. Garnish with some mint leaves and a lime wheel.
20 ml Vodka
20 ml Whiskey
30 ml soda
10 ml lime
Blend all the ingredients together in a shaker. Pour the mixture over some ice and lime segments. Use your mint leaves to garnish.
45 ml White Rum
30 ml Apple Juice
15 ml syrup (equal parts water and sugar. Boil off some water until syrupy)
Mix all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Pour into a nice glass and put your feet up.
