Pretty pink lips for Valentine’s? Yes please! Here are my top 5 pink lipsticks/glosses to make those lips kissable for the winking boys 😉
Devilish pink – that’s what we’re talking about for Valentine’s Day! I’m all out of this beautiful mirror shine gloss at the moment, but will be making a pit stop at my nearest Dior counter for this luscious lip product tomorrow. It plumps and moisturizes lips with hyaluronic acid spheres – don’t you know?! It might be a bit pricey, but this is a dream gloss to wear. I wore this for about 6 months straight, and never tired of its beautiful pigmented shine. Anything mirror-shine, and I’m sold! And yes, I will be using Elvive Mirror Shine to wash my hair on Saturday too 😄
2) Mac Pink Pigeon, maccosmetics.co.uk, £15.50
I love bold bright pinks for a night out on the tiles. However, I wouldn’t be the sort to wear a statement lip unless I was going out. This gorgeous vibrant shade would nearly make me reconsider my conservative stance on lip colours though.
It’s super bright, fun and summery. It’s long wearing, highly pigmented, but can be a little drying. I find a lot of lipsticks to be drying anyway, so, I prep mine by scrubbing off any dead skin with an old toothbrush, and by lashing on a good lip balm in the week leading up to my night out.
Brown Thomas also have Full Fuschia in stock for €19.50. I personally prefer these lipsticks to Candy Yum Yum, another bright neon pink, but…
3) … I did pick up Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Fuschia Flash #902, €10.49, today, which is a perfect dupe for Candy Yum Yum
This lipstick has high intensity colour pigments which provide even coverage. There is good colour pay off and the vivid colour is wearable even on my pasty complexion. This is the sort of lippy that would brighten up your day. Especially for that price!
3) Rimmel Provocalips in Little Minx, €8.99
We all know I love Provocalips, maybe a little too much ! This two step lock and shine lippy will be sure to set his pulse racing on date night. Incorporate this cheap and cheerful playful pink lipstick with a trip to see Fifty Shades at the cinema, and you could be in trouble!! Don’t say I didn’t warn you 😉
4) Maybelline ColorSensational Gloss in Pink Shock 150, €9.29
This is a nice subtle pink gloss for someone who wants to tip their hat in the direction of Valentine’s without going overkill on it. It’s a fresh candy pink with high shine definition. It smells nice, isn’t sticky and feels quite moisturizing on. It’s also a 100% wax free formula.
This is probably one of the more wearable colours for fair Irish skin tones. Some of the brighter shades require a bit of a tan to set them off nicely.
I also wanted to try out this gloss in Electric Shock, a bright powder pink colour, but I couldn’t find it in any of my local stores 😦 It looks like a nice colour for Valentine’s though. A bit more vibrant and daring than this one, if that’s any of you are in to that sort of thing.
This ‘extraordinary’ – get it? – product acts as a lipstick and lipgloss in one. This high shine lipstick isn’t too bold but also makes a statement. According to YouTube reviews, it is surprisingly wearable, and apparently its bluish undertones help make teeth look whiter. All that and the colour pay off seems amazing! It looks so pretty and seems as though it has a tiny bit of iridescent shine to it under certain lights. To me it looks like your ideal hot pink for all those Valentine’s dates 😉 I think this is the colour I’m going to wear if I can track it down.
I also watched like a gazillion reviews of these liquid lipsticks on YouTube after testing out the Pink one today. There are so many gorgeous shades to flatter all skin tones. I think #105 Pink Tremolo looks divine. It’s understated, but beautiful, and will suit a lot of ages and skin types. Molten Mauve #500 appears to be a really wearable light pink colour, which I really want to invest in. In fact, I want all of these colours! I think I’ll be buying one a week until I have them all 🙂 There are selected colours in Boots Ireland at 2 for €18. None of the colours I mentioned are there though 😦 Let me know if any of you guys find this, because I really really want it for Valentine’s!
I hope this post is useful for some of you. I’m definitely having a pink lip and neutral eye for my date Saturday night, which I cannot wait for! I also bought Rimmel Pinkadilly Circus, €8.75, for my eyes. I love pink and am grateful for any excuse to drape myself head to toe in it 🙂
Have a lovely time on Saturday y’all 🙂
