Today was the perfect winter’s day. Frosty blue skies, cold breeze and bare trees all helped that Christmas feeling to softly envelop everything and everyone. So, because of the ultra Christmassy feel in the air, we had to pay a visit to the perfect Winter Wonderland. We visited Saint Nick at Leahy’s Farm. And, what a day we had!
We arrived late, because with two young kids, we’re always late! 🙂 But, we still managed to make it on the journey through the Enchanted Forest, where we met a friendly elf who had us clean Santa’s sleigh and feed the reindeer by sprinkling some magic dust, aka glitter, in their trough. We also got to meet a magic talking Christmas tree, which was quite an experience!
We made it through the forest to find Mrs. Claus baking cookies and doing the laundry in her quaint, little cottage. She needed a few helpers, and made sure she targeted the daddies. Such a delight of a woman!
We found ourselves in the most beautiful, snowy paradise when we left Mrs. Claus’ house. We were in the realm of the Christmas Angel. This was my favourite part of the day. The room was a perfect interpretation of winter whiteness and the attention to detail really made it magical for the children. Those of us with a special Christmas wish in mind, were allowed to thow ‘Wishing Cards’ in the ‘Wishing Rocket’. The Christmas Angel made wishes come true by clicking the heels of her stunning, sparkly heels together three times. It really was a mystical experience.
Unfortunately, we didn’t learn very much at Elf School because our two pups started acting up. Apologies to anyone who was distracted from their Elf Studies by the screaming. What can you do?! Then, they played in the snow before we went in to visit Santa, who was just lovely.
We spent 4 and a half hours walking around Leahy’s! The kids got to pet the animals, got to play on diggers, karts and fire engines and to see a live crib. They got to ride on the barrel train and stumble through the maze. And, J and Amelie even got papped by a photographer for a local paper when they emerged from the tunnel slide. Absolutely the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I’ll laugh about it forever more 🙂
They had a brilliant day. We highly recommend visiting Santa’s Village. The bambinos are always tired after a trip to Leahy’s.
11 days to Christmas, whoop! Hope you guys are enjoying the lead up!
